About My Work
I first became interested in resilience as a teenager, when my father and little sister died unexpectedly.
Seeking answers, I spent years exploring dozens of processes while working as a baker in Maine, an advertising copywriter in Vermont, and a screenwriter for the Muppets in LA.
In 2000, I met self-help pioneer Byron Katie and loved her Work. I spent three magical years helping Katie reach more people. But many of my friends — a number of them in financial services — didn’t quite connect with Katie’s approach, and that got me thinking.
So in 2004, I created a related but different approach to resilience, and I’ve been teaching it ever since — at Wharton Executive Education, and to thousands of leaders at dozens of the world’s best companies, with a particular focus on wealth-management advisory teams and nonprofits.
My programs have expanded over the years to integrate personal resilience as the foundation for family dynamics, team performance, community alignment, and social change.
